(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the Gaza Strip, monitored in its monthly report the latest developments of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during last August.
The Organization demanded in its report the implementation of the projects of distributing school uniforms and bags for children of needy families. It also called on the humanitarian organizations to provide support to ease the burden on poor families in light of the deteriorating economic situation in Gaza and the growing number of orphans during the previous period to exceed 16,000children.
The report reviewed the Israeli violations against citizens, reminding that seven people were killed over the past month after being targeted by the occupation while eight others were moderately and seriously wounded. It also recalled the raids, waged by Israeli warplanes which caused severe damage on farmers' lands.
Islamic Cooperation's report monitored movement of the most important humanitarian convoys in solidarity with residents of Gaza and movements of import and export through Gaza's crossings, noting that IOF has allowed only a small number of trucks to cross in both directions during this month, preventing many others despite that 80% of Gaza's residents depend on aid.
Regarding the electricity crisis experienced by the Gaza Strip, the report stated that hours of power cuts have been increasing which aggravated the suffering of the citizens.
